Dr. Carlos Idrobo (*1979), also known as Luca Idrobo. Philosopher, Art Historian, Psychologist and Fine Art Photographer based in Finland.
The emphasis of his research and artistic interests are topics in psychology, philosophy, and modern and contemporary art. He trained in Psychology at the Universidad del Valle (Colombia, 2014) with a final thesis on the narrative construction of identity, followed by a Master of Arts in Philosophy at the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia, 2008) with a master thesis on Heidegger’s interpretation of the Aristotelian Phrónesis. He successfully defended his PhD dissertation in Art History at the Universität Greifswald (Germany, 2017), which later came out as a book on Absence, Time, and the Figure of the Wanderer in nineteenth century German art (Dec. 2019). He has worked as psychologist, university lecturer, researcher, and in other academic duties. After a postdoctoral research project on Mobility Limits in the Nineteenth Century, based at the University of Jyväskylä (Finland, 2020-21), he started working on his own project on Hermeneutics of Walking, based at the University of Turku (Finland, 2021-23) and funded by the Kone Foundation. In addition, he has worked as artistic and documentary photographer and writer in different independent and collaborative art projects under the artistic name Luca Idrobo.
